An audio-visual unit produced by Tetsuya Mizuguchi

Exactly five years after the devastating 9/11 attack on American soil, a single music video titled "Heavenly Star" was released online. In a matter of seconds, minutes and hours, Genki Rockets' debut music video was streamed, viewed and widely distributed on various sites including Youtube.com, MySpace.com and counted over 100,000 views on gaming network site 1up.com. A few months later, Genki Rockets made its in-game debut with "Lumines II" (PSP) in North America and Europe and the song's catchy, uplifting tune combined with equally striking video caught the attention of many gamers, leading to a nomination for Best Song at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards. The Japanese version of the game followed in February 2007. Genki Rockets is a unique, audio-visual hybrid group that consists of a few artists and will be collaborating with other artists in the future to bring new music and videos. Its character and story is set in the not so far away future of 30 years from today and centered around a 17-year old girl named Lumi from outer space. On December 13, 2006, "Heavenly Star" was made available for purchase at the iTunes store (US and Japan). A few days later on December 18, invited guests at the Mado Lounge located on the 52nd floor in Roppongi Hills/Tokyo were treated not only to one of the gorgeous backdrops in world, but a memorable, world's first Heavenly Star Party in which five DJs performed their own rendition of the song. The show was unstoppable and the energy level was as high as the tower itself.

Topping the sales charts in Week 1

The 12 inch vinyl of "Heavenly Star" (original and remixes) was released on February 16, 2007 in Japan and quickly grabbed the No. 1 spot on the sales charts. Genki Rockets' major debut came as they were selected as the opening act for the Tokyo venue of the Live Earth concert, a global musical event initiated by Al Gore which was held on July 7, 2007. Furthermore, a special remix version of "Heavenly Star" can be downloaded and played as part of the "Tokyo Club Mix Pack" within the Lumines LIVE! game, currently available on Xbox LIVEĀ® Arcade. With iTunes, a 12 inch vinyl release, the opening act for a major concert, a game and nearly 250,000 views on YouTube.com, Genki Rockets is unstoppable.

Last, but not least!

On July 4, 2007, Genki Rockets released their first CD, which includes the debut song "Heavenly Star" and the latest song "Breeze". The CD (currently only available in Japan) is available at selected online shopping sites and retailers nationwide.
